Invest Local Event at The Astorian

NextSeed started last week with a bang! Our inaugural Invest Local event in Houston was an immense success – a warm thank you to everyone who attended! We hope you all had a great time mingling, exploring and discovering local delights in the incredible space at The Astorian. Our team was thrilled to share with the Houston community what investment crowdfunding is all about.

Invest Local hosted an all-star panel of local entrepreneurs who shared with the audience their insights and experiences in owning, operating and investing in local businesses.  Collectively, we had on stage the brains behind successful Houston businesses like The Astorian, Satori Salon, Hughes Hangar, The De Gaulle, Rich’s, EscoBar, Mi Luna, Saint Danes and Christian’s Tailgate.

We also heard from Simon Nguyen, owner of Hair Revolution – the first business to ever crowdfund under Texas rules. Simon shared his decision-making process when he invited the public to invest in his business on NextSeed. As he described it, crowdfunding provided him a new way to gain new customers who could also benefit financially from the growth of his business. Overall, the event showcased NextSeed’s mission to reimagine small business financing by connecting businesses with crowdfunded capital.

A big shout-out goes to the creators of Caphin, Roostar, Tipsy Dessert Bar, Oh My! Pocket Pies, Metis Foods, Glazed Donuts, Awesome Bites, Southern Gents, Good Merch, and Kooth Brand – you guys rocked the house alongside a live music performance by Houston’s very own The Beans!

Don’t just take our word for it – check out the video! Not only was it fun to get acquainted with established entrepreneurs and rising stars in the local Houston business scene, guests also got a taste of what “invest local” means to us and how anyone can take advantage of hometown knowledge when investing on NextSeed.

We hope to do this again soon!
