We have some very exciting news to share with you: Oxalis officially opened its doors on Wednesday, November 28th.
While we are still waiting for our liquor license to be finalized with the New York State Liquor Authority, we have started serving our food and a unique non-alcoholic beverage program here in Brooklyn. Our neighbors have been ecstatic and welcoming, making us feel that Oxalis is a welcome addition to the community.
We’re also happy to share that the press around our launch has been fantastic. Our PR Agency, Mona Creative, has done an outstanding job getting word out about our opening. In just about two weeks-time, Oxalis vaulted onto Eater’s Brooklyn Heat Map as one of Brooklyn’s hottest restaurants and landed itself as #7 on New York Magazine’s Grub Street’s 12
We’re thrilled to be able to provide some updates on our progress.
While we won’t be able to announce a date for opening until we’re much closer, we’re past the halfway point of construction! The walls are painted, the floor is stained, and the new bar is in place in our patio, where we’ve poured over 7 tons of concrete as we convert it into a year-round space.
We also recently hired several people in our management team, including our General Manager Gabriel and Paige McMahon, an incredibly talented pastry chef. They are excited to meet each and every one of you.
One last thing: for the guests who are eligible for our early-bird gift card reward, please make sure your mailing address is up to date in your NextSeed Account Cente
We are thrilled to have the opportunity to extend a piece of Oxalis to each of you, and are excited that you share our passion and vision. We’ll be continuing to provide updates to each of you about events, updates, and news about our restaurant as it happens.
Currently, we’ve already started construction and are still on track for the fall/winter! Expect to hear from us over the next few weeks about receiving bonus rewards such as early bird gift cards, as well as opening news.
Thank you for investing in us! Always feel free to reach out directly to connect. It is a pleasure to have you in our family.

We’re holding a fall preview dinner series next week on Wednesday, September 19th and Thursday, September 20th at Fitzcarraldo in Brooklyn. The dinner offers guests a chance to experience a dinner similar to Oxalis’ dining room offering: 5-courses and snacks and a variety of thoughtful beverage pairings ranging from cocktails to ciders and wines.

Happy to share with our NextSeed followers that we’re hosting a pop-up dinner on September 19th and 20th at Fitzcarraldo in Brooklyn!
It’s a particularly exciting time for us as we prepare to open our brick and mortar restaurant, especially since we held some of our earliest pop-ups at Fitzcarraldo when we began hosting dinners over two years ago.
Tickets are $115 per person, and include our seasonal set menu, beverages pairings, and gratuity.

Thanks to everyone who has supported our campaign so far. Last week we reached our minimum raise of $100,000 and are now almost at the $120,000 mark. Over the next few weeks we’ll be starting construction on the space, bringing us one step closer to bringing Oxalis to the neighborhood.
We’re also thrilled to share that we recently brought on Piper Kristensen as our Beverage Director and partner. Piper spent time at Booker & Dax and Bearded Lady in Prospect Heights. We’re excited to have him bring his creativity and cocktail experience to Oxalis.
We’ll be exploring some pop-ups soon, make sure you sign up for our mailing list at
We look forward to hosting this event to meet anyone that may be interested in learning more about what makes Oxalis so special to us. Our team will be there as we serve a light sampling of food that exemplifies our unique style of cuisine. Please feel free to invite your friends and family in the area as well!
