Our Plans to Manage the Impact of Coronavirus
Our business is adapting quite well considering the ways in which we have all been impacted by COVID-19. Over 90% of our March bookings chose to reschedule, as opposed to fully canceling their events. We are currently conducting FaceTime tours for guests who are staying at home and we have continued to see booking confirmations for events this summer. During this time, we are offering booking discounts and encouraging clients to start planning their Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 events. We are also still seeing inquiries and likely bookings for Ronin Harrisburg weddings for Fall 2020 and 2021. We are hopeful business will continue to pick up as our clients plan gatherings after social distancing restrictions are lifted.
As for how this affects the planned timeline for Ronin Harrisburg, we are still working hard to meet the soft opening date we set for July. As of now, everything is still on track, and we're hoping it stays that way. We're not quite sure yet how the City of Houston permitting department may delay us, but we don't anticipate it causing us to fall much behind our expected timeline.
Importantly, we do not foresee the COVID-19 situation negatively impacting the long-term viability of Ronin Harrisburg. We are communicating with potential clients who plan to book far enough in advance that the mandated social distancing should be lifted by then. Coupling those future bookings with some in-house events we have planned once we complete construction, and our revenue streams should be strong. Our pricing and business model is flexible enough to support any discounts or price reductions we may need to make while the economy and our potential clients recover from these tough times.
Although the circumstances were different, Ronin Art House has weathered tough times before. Our business flooded during Harvey flooding and the recovery process was daunting. We were resilient and resourceful enough to survive then, and we are confident we will be able to continue to grow through these difficult times as well.
Thank you for your support,
-The Ronin Harrisburg Team
