Congratulations to restaurateur Ian Tucker for raising $224,700 from 182 everyday investors on NextSeed to fund his newest concept – and one of his first on this side of the Atlantic. Construction has already kicked off at Poitin, with doors slated to open in March 2018.
Tucker moved to Houston several years ago to be with his now wife; they met while she was on vacation in his native Dublin. While love brought Ian to Houston, the city’s rich cultural heritage and culinary diversity lured him to stay. He saw an opportunity to open a unique restaurant and bar concept, incorporating his experience owning and operating the critically-acclaimed The Exchequer and The Exchequer Wine Bar in Dublin.
Poitin – Tucker’s second restaurant in Houston – will anchor Sawyer Yards in the vibrant Washington Avenue Arts District. The contemporary eatery will join over 40 master-planned acres of art studios, galleries, restaurants, fitness studios and breweries.
The Houston community is clearly excited about Ian’s vision for Poitin. Follow the updates page to keep tabs on the project.
